Founder, Editor: College Magazine
When I first joined college, it seemed that everyone was trying to put forward the 'best' version of themselves - the one that was always happy, had clear direction, lots of friends and a strong sense of their future - and that I was the only one struggling to find myself and find my place in the world. As I spent more time roaming around the large college halls that somehow seemed both full and empty at the same time, I started to discover that everyone was just as scared, lost and lonely as I was. This inspired me to build a platform that communicated transparently the struggles and joys of adolescents so that more people understood that no matter what they were going through, they were not alone. It included teachers speaking about stage fright, the struggles of navigating through a new city for college, alumni opening up about their regrets, and LGBTQ students exploring their identity - a first for any publicly circulated college magazine.
